Mantashe is Zuma’s human shield

-

ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe, pictured, is turning himself into human shield for President Jacob Zuma’s recall. The National Union of Mine Workers’ central committee stated clearly that Zuma must be recalled with immediate effect.

But Mantashe warns us of a “hybrid revolution”, which is a combination of hard and soft power.

Mr Mantashe, it’s quite simple, really. People say Zuma must go because they’re not satisfied with his leadership style.

It is not fair for Mantashe to keep Zuma in leadership to avoid splitting of ANC party while the country’s economy is taking a nosedive into an uncertain future.

Zuma once said that he wouldn’t step down unless he was instructed to do so by the NEC of the ANC.

If we stop pushing and wait for December for the ANC to elect leaders who will seriously stop corruption and looting of the state, it might be too late.

In the meantime, must we get used to living with corruption and looting?

When Zuma goes, Cyril Ramaphosa is available to replace him. This should be done based on the ANC policy on leadership.

It is only Deputy President Ramaphosa who qualifies to step into Zuma’s leadership shoes. Finish en klaar!

As Mantashe sits like a mouse on the broken dam wall of the ANC, let’s hope his wish of keeping Zuma will be washed away by the powerful will of the people! Amos Tebeila, Mhuzi
