TREAT FOR THRILL SEEKERS: TOP CLASS DRIFTING AND STUNT MEN

Double-barreled adrenaline show will make the trip to the East Rand worth it.

Gauteng motorsport enthusiasts and other thrill seekers should make their way to the Carnival City Casino complex this Saturday. The venue will offer a double-barreled adrenaline show in its parking lot, making a trip to the East Rand absolutely worthwhile.

Topping the show will be a round of this year’s South African SupaDrift championship, run on the venue’s purpose-built Drifting track.

More than 30 of the country’s top Drifting competitors have entered.

Among them will be Mikey Skelton, in his radical six-litre V8-engined Nissan 350Z, Paolo Gouveia (Nissan S13 2JZ Turbo), Eric van Eyssen (Nissan S14 2JZ Turbo) and current South African champion Dez Gutzeit in his Nissan R34 LS3 V8.

The Drifters will take to the tarmac from 8am, with their official practice session between 11am and noon .

Official qualifying will be held between 1.15pm and 3pm, with the Tamden competitions run between 3pm and 5pm.

As soon as it gets dark after the Drifting, veteran stuntmen Enrico Schoeman and André de Kock will get up to some seriously hot antics in the parking lot adjacent to the Drifting track.

Schoeman will be set on fire, after which he will ride a Gold Rand Harley-Davidson through two fire tunnels and a burning billboard.

Directly afterwards, De Kock will crash a burning car through a pyramid of burning car wrecks.

Admission to the SupaDrifting will cost R100 per adult and R50 per scholar.
