Witbank Spurs may have emerged as a side to be reckoned with in the National First Division (NFD) next season judging by how they have gone about doing business in the transfer market.

Spurs have released nine players to make space for fresh faces who could make a telling contribution to the club’s ambitions of winning promotion to the Absa Premiership.

Among those deemed surplus to requirements was Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro’s identical twin Takudzwa who is a goalkeeper. The Mpumalanga team also released their most experienced campaigners in Joshua Sauls and Alleni Lebyane.

Ndoro’s place on the bench will be taken by Thuto Xaba who has signed from Royal Eagles.

They have attracted a former Premiership player seeking game time in Thabo Makhele who is on loan from SuperSport United.

Siyavutha have welcomed six new players to the club with two signings pending before the start of the season as they are still in negotiations.

New kids on the block, Ubuntu Cape Town City, who bought FC Cape Town’s status, have also been busy on the transfer market with their latest acquisition being Zimbabwe international Bukhosi Sibanda.

Black Leopards have put their skipper Siphelele Ntshangase up for sale to any club who can match their asking price which is said to be around R2.5 million. Ntshangase has been a consistent performer for Lidoda Duvha in recent seasons resulting in Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates pulling out their chequebooks to sign him. Their offers were declined as the team needed the player at the time.

Richards Bay FC have reportedly competed the signing of Manti Mekoa from Stellenbosch FC ahead of their maiden season in the National First Division.
