Something for all
ECLECTIC: MIX OF GOODS ON OFFER FOR ALL TASTES
Among the vehicles is a 1942 ex-army Harley-Davidson ‘Liberator’.
The August winds might blow non stop this coming weekend but the auction at Old Johannesburg Warehouse Auctioneers is going to be like a whiff of fresh sea air, with two days and over 1 200 lots of auction excitement lined up.
Tomorrow at 9.30am, the auction begins with an eclectic mix of antiques – beautiful silver tea sets and cutlery sets, amazing Oriental ceramics, glassware, exceptional Dutch and French furniture, exquisite English Rosewood furniture (of particular mention a very rare Victorian ebonised credenza), railway memorabilia, a collection of very rare 17th and 18th Century English gold coins, a large collection of Dinky toys, industrial and architectural pieces and so much more.
In the same session, car fanatics might just drool over the line-up: a stunning red 1977 VW Kombi pickup (1600), a 1942 Harley-Davidson WLC 45 Solo “Liberator” (ex-army) and a 1957 BSA D3 motorcycle.
At 1pm, the art session begins with lots of South African and international pieces.
On Sunday from 9.30am, a treasure trove of furniture, ceramics, glass, silverware, general art and more will keep auction goers busy for hours.
As usual for the Sunday, the stand-alone jewellery, precious stone and watch session, begins at noon. For more information, contact 011 836 1650 or e-mail info@oldjwauctioneers.com
