The Vaal courses' September meetings are to be moved to Turffontein

-

Despite every effort to continue race meetings as programmed at both the Vaal Inside and Outside tracks for September, the recent cold temperatures and frost have further exacerbated the wear and tear experienced during the winter.

In an endeavour to rest and rejuvenate the Vaal tracks and in the best interests of safety to horse and rider, the track’s management have taken the decision to move all race meetings for September from the Vaal to Turffontein with the exception of the Grand Heritage race meeting on 30 September which will be run at the Vaal as scheduled. The changes are as follows: 5 September – Vaal Outside to Turffontein Standside

7 September – Vaal Inside to Turffontein Standside

12 September – Vaal Outside to Turffontein Standside

14 September – Vaal Inside to Turffontein Standside

19 September – Vaal Outside to Turffontein Standside

21 September – Vaal Inside to Turffontein Standside

28 September – Vaal Inside to Turffontein Inside

Amended brochure pages (note changes to race distances) are available online.

Kindly be reminded about participating in qualifying races and declarations for the Grand Heritage race. The Highveld Summer Season programme from October 2017 to January 2018 is currently being finalised and will be made available shortly.
