CUSTOMISE YOUR PORSCHE TO YOUR WALLET’S DESIRE

-

Delve into the optional list and create a very exclusive sports machine. Mark Jones

Just the other day when we were in Stuttgart, Germany, for the unveiling of the all-new Porsche Cayenne, we were treated to a tour around the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur facility at the company’s headquarters in Zuffenhausen to fill some of the free time we had.

What this means in a nutshell is that you can order your Porsche and delve into the optional list as one does in this premium segment, but now you can go one huge step further and exclusively customise your Porsche to your heart’s and wallet’s desire via the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur department.

For more than 30 years, Porsche customers have been able to enjoy extensively customised individual pieces. the latest example being the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series you would have seen recently. To date, some 40 percent of all 911s have been customised by Exclusive Manufaktur on average and this exclusive facility will be available at Porsche Centre Johannesburg from the end of this year.

Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offers a broad palette of customisation possibilities, ranging from standard finishing options for series vehicles to “country editions” and limited production runs. With a wide range of visual and technical customisation options in the areas of external and internal finishes, lighting, wheels, engine and drive, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offers an extremely broad palette of options with which to turn a special production vehicle into an individual and highly personal customer vehicle.

Customers can choose from a large range of colours and sophisticated materials. There are now over 600 different order options. Even customer wishes that are not covered by the customisation programme can be realised by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur for selected models.

Obviously, quality, technology, road safety and full compliance with international laws are ensured, as with any standard Porsche. But you can get aerokits, sports design packages, increased performance, sports tailpipes, painted add-on parts as well as front and rear lights.

Customers can also use the Exclusive Manufaktur programme to design the interior to suit their taste and choose from a wide selection of décors, leathers, exterior colours, embossments, and stitching packages in a range of colours. Combined with the exterior finishes offered by the factory and the choice of leathers, the possibilities open to the customer are endless.

Porsche has produced exceptional collector’s items according to this maxim in recent decades, for example the 911 Sport Classic from 2009, which was limited to 250 units. This vehicle combines tradition and modernity in typical Porsche style. One year later, in 2010, Porsche presented the 911 Speedster, a tribute to the 356 Speedster limited to 356 pieces. Taking the Panamera Turbo S Executive as a basis, between 2014 and 2015 Porsche created a limited small series of the Panamera model line. The Panamera Exclusive Series was limited to a run of 100. Porsche is now continuing this tradition with the new 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series.

These exceptional and rare vehicles are recognisable by the ‘Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’ plaque on the

sides.
