Be frank for to win Goodwood Foundation Stakes

-

London–

Frankuus should make the most of both the cut in the ground and drop in class today as he tackles the EBF Stallions Foundation Stakes at Goodwood.

Mark Johnston's charge is tipped as the nap bet of the day and capable of performing on decent ground, but he no doubt excels when some rain has fallen, as evidenced by a Group 3 win at Haydock on his penultimate start.

He benefited from a fine frontrunning ride on Merseyside when winning the Rose of Lancaster Stakes, but he was far from stopping in front and only Mount Logan, who has subsequently won a decent event at Doncaster, could get anywhere near him.

It is easy to see why Johnston was tempted into having a crack at the Winter Hill at Windsor at the back-end of August, but he never really looked happy on the good to firm ground and it is perhaps best to just put a line through that effort.

This Frankel colt boasts the highest rating of 112 here and the conditions of race put him at a distinct advantage which he can exploit.

Another suggested bet is an allto-come with Frankuus onto Pow Wow at Kempton.

Billesdon Brook can notch her fourth win of the campaign in the TBA Small Breeders' Fillies' Conditions Stakes.

Richard Hannon's runner has proved incredibly game this season and will be having her ninth start here as she dips slightly in company.

Her initial win at Kempton in July prompted Hannon to scale her up in company and she has certainly risen to the challenge, placing in Listed class before taking the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood.

She was hardly disgraced when fifth in the May Hill at Doncaster last time either, but perhaps 1600m just found her out towards the end. Billesdon Brook has to concede weight all around but will still take some beating.

Setting Sail should win the opening “Get 1/4 Odds At 188Bet” Future Stayers' Maiden Stakes.Press Association.
