Time for the final push for matric class of 2017

-

You have equal chances to make it and you can all do so if you get your heads down and study, writes Thebe Kgwetiane.

There are only a few days left before grade 12 learners sit for final year exams across South Africa. Allow me to congratulate all grade 12 learners for their perseverance and hard work.

They are really winners for reaching this far since the beginning of the 2017 academic year. Thank you for running the race and now you are left with a few kilometres to finish and claim your prize – good results.

Do you remember how you started the year? The end of the year seemed very far away but now you are almost there, so be happy, study hard and believe in yourself.

A perfect example for all matrics is horseracing.

When horses start, it is not clear which horse will win the race. You can’t even bank on front runners because when they reach the final 300 metres, all jockeys put in their last energy and the races are usually very closely run.

So, to all matrics, now is the time to put in your last energy to

your books.

It doesn’t matter how you all started. You have equal chances to make it and you can all make it if you get your heads down and study as if your life depended on it.

For now, don’t worry about friends, social media, soapies, TV programmes.

You will have a plenty of time to waste after writing your exams but now is the time to devote your energy to your books.

I wish the class of 2017 nothing but the best.

Remember, you are all winners.
