Enable the 3rd-best racehorse in the world

– As the result of her dominant performanc­e in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Group 1), Enable (GB) [128] is the third highest-rated horse in the eighth edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2017.

By taking the Arc, Enable improved her rating to 128 from 126.

The three-year-old filly defeated Cloth Of Stars (Ire) [125] by 2.50 lengths while Ulysses (Ire) [127] checked in third, Order Of

Paris

St George (Ire) [122] was fourth, and Brametot (Ire) [121] was fifth.

Enable has won her last six races, which also include the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Group 1), Investec Oaks (Group 1), Darley Irish Oaks (Group 1), and Darley Yorkshire Oaks (Group 1), by a combined 24.25 lengths.

The best racehorse in the world, according to the rankings, is Arrogate (USA); followed by Winx (Australia) . After Enable Gun Runner (USA) is fourth and Ulysses (Ire) fifth.

Legal Eagle and Marinaresc­o, both in 34th place, are the leading South African horses on the list.

Winx was already second on the list before her phenomenal win last weekend in the Group 1 Turnbull at Flemington. Her rating remained unchanged at 132.

Meanwhile, there are several newcomers to the latest rankings. Leading that charge is World Approval (USA) [123], who followed up his victory in the Fourstarda­ve Handicap (Group 1) with a win in the Ricoh Woodbine Mile Stakes (Group 1).

Humidor (NZ) [122] is ranked after defeating Hartnell (GB) [122] in the PFD Food Services Makybe Diva Stakes (Group 1).

Furthermor­es, Beach Patrol (USA) [121] has won two major races in a row, the Arlington Million XXXV Stakes (Group 1) and the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Stakes (Group 1), while Capri (Ire) [120] has taken the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby (Group 1) and the William Hill St Leger Stakes (Group 1) and they now find themselves ranked.

Additional­ly, West Coast (USA) [122] improved his rating to 122 from 121 by following up his win in the Travers Stakes presented by NYRA Bets (Group 1) with a victory in the Pennsylvan­ia Derby.
