Turkish tanks in joint army drills

– Turkey has redeployed tank units from different parts of the country to the Sirnak province, located on the border with Iraq, for joint drills with Baghdad, undertaken amid tensions over the recent Kurdish independen­ce referendum, local media reported yesterday.

The tank units arrived at the border territory at night due to security concerns, the Anadolu news agency reported.

Turkey and Iraq launched military drills in late September, ahead of the referendum. – Sputnik
