Cricket should be for all provinces
Iam concerned about what is really happening with our national cricket team, pictured. I’ve never seen an official match that features our national cricket team being hosted in Limpopo or Mpumalanga. The matches are always in Western Cape, Eastern Cape, North West, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Free State.
But I’ve yet to see a match (T20, Test or ODI) being played in Mpumalanga or Limpopo. Our country needs to do something about this.
Soccer is played throughout the country, so why not cricket?
It’s really sad as the cricket lovers from those provinces are overlooked.
The minister of sport and MEC of sport from those provinces need to think of ways of addressing this.
My other concern is that in the Sunfoil Series, there is no team from Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
When Fikile Mbalula was minister of sport, he talked a lot about transformation. How can there be any transformation in provinces like Limpopo and Mpumalanga if they don’t get a chance to play in the Sunfoil Series or Momentum T20 & 50-over matches?
It would be nice to see South Africa playing Zimbabwe at Peter Mokaba Stadium or Giyani Stadium. Tebogo Madumo, Hammanskraal
