Unwind at the Maslow while sipping on some great cocktails, celebratin­g summer with the Sunshine Social Pool Party. It’s Christmas soon anyway, so why not party on October 29? There will be something for everyone on this Sunday fun day, with guests being treated to sparkling pink bubbles and palate-pleasing vodka cocktails on arrival, and then dancing to music provided by a live band. Delectable treats are expected to be served from the chef’s special lunch menu. The function is dispensing with the formality of a sit-down meal, allowing pool party revellers to be able to finger/fork feast on everything from sushi and chicken to burgers, with tempting tequila ice-lollies or the world famous New York cheesecake for dessert. The gardens of The Maslow – Sun Internatio­nal’s flagship urban hotel situated in the heart of Africa’s financial hub, and awarded the winning hotel for the year 2017 at the second annual Thinc Africa conference – will be the backdrop to the pool party.

Pay R365 and be at the party from 11pm until 6pm. val Lawns on October 21. The event marks a celebratio­n of modern youth lifestyle through the best in local music. With its all-star line-up, it will be the biggest hiphop event in Ekurhuleni thus far. The line-up is Emtee, Sjava, Kwesta, AKA, Saudi, Priddy Ugly, Gemini Major, Tshego, KLY, Neo, LaSauce, KidTini, Shane Eagle, and Gazza (Namibia), while the DJs will be Miss Pru, DJ CitiLyts, Major League, Black Motion, DJ Ganyani, Vetkuk vs Mahoota, DJ Nation, DJ Zero, Mr X and Sizwe RocBoi. Gates will open at 12pm only for those that bought tickets at Computicke­t, Shoprite, Checkers and House & Home.
