Heavenly Spa is an experience to die for

- Kgosi Modisane

On the 19th and top floor of Cape Town’s new landmark hotel, The Westin, is an oasis of opulent pleasure.

The Heavenly Spa is an award-winning establishment that balances outer and inner wellbeing.

Its treatments are unique and luxurious.

From therapeutic massages to cleansing facials and invigorating body treatments, a visit to this spa stimulates the senses and nourishes body and mind.

It has 15 treatment rooms, including some for couples.

There is a sauna, hot tub and pool with an unbeatable view of the Cape Town Foreshore.

I had the Heavenly Massage which took an hour and comprises a combination of the spa’s three-stone ritual, with a Swedish-style massage.

The therapist focused on areas of muscular tension in my upper and lower back, shoulders and feet, while inducing relaxation with her delicate technique.

The pure essence of Marula and herb-infused oils are used in this treatment to celebrate Africa’s spirit.

The spa recently won the World Luxury Spa Award, a prestigious accolade described as the “pinnacle of achievement” for a luxury spa.

Awards are presented to luxury spas in 32 different categories on a country, regional, continental and global basis.

About 29 South African spas entered the competition.
