Await the stars to shine at Ready To Run Sale

-

The 2017 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale will be staged at the Summerhill Stud School Of Excellence in Mooi River from 2pm today and there are a number of horses for sale who should get buyers’ mouths watering.

The sale is dubbed “pound-forpound the best sale in the nation” and approved buyers spending R100,000 and more can pay over three instalments.

The catalogue includes the last progeny of Await The Dawn, a son of Giant's Causeway who died in 2014. There are three Await The Dawns on the catalogue – Lot 23 Early Dawn (out of Dahlia’s Guest), Lot 26 Insomniac (out of Devin Cross) and a colt called Bafana (Lot 37 out of Insasa).

Every one of Dahlia’s Guest’s 11 foals have won, including Mr Mulliner (by Mullins Bay), a five-time winner and Grade 3 placed. Gary Alexander, who trainer Mr Mulliner, is sure to have a second look at the two-year-old filly.

Insomniac’s dam Devon Cross won four races and is a half-sister to Zimbabwe Horse Of The Year Just Andre, while whoever buys the Await The Dawn colt will be hoping he is much more consistent than the football team after whom he is named. Bafana’s grand-dam is a half-sister to feature winner Way West and Premier’s Champion Stakes runnerup Prospect Strike.
