Forus come on board to sponsor Cape Guineas

Global banking solutions company Forus are the new sponsors of the R1million Cape Guineas to be run at Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday 16 December.

The Cape Guineas is the only Grade 1 race over 1600m for three-yearolds and one of the most prestigiou­s horseracin­g events in the country.

The Honour Roll includes Horse Chestnut, Captain Al, Variety Club and a dead heat in 1972 between two of the greatest milers the country has seen – Sentinel and In Full Flight.

Also run on the day is the Grade 2 Premier Trophy over 1800m, a traditiona­l qualifying race for the Sun Met and that will see a number of the best older horses in the country taking part.

It is a popular race with owners and trainers and carries prize money of R400,000.

With the Festive Season in full swing, visitors to Kenilworth racecourse on 16 December can celebrate the time of the year with some thrilling racing and entertainm­ent featuring The Second Hand Market.

This is a chance to enjoy some good food and wine and do some Christmas shopping at the same time.

There will also be a lot of activities for the kids. Jumping castles and other exciting activities will be available.

To add to their entertainm­ent there will be a Santa’s corner available at just R20 per child which will include a party packet and a special visit from Santa Claus and his Elves.

Kiddies Entertainm­ent and Prize giveaways will include the chance to win R5,000 for a toddler and R10,000 for a scholar, both as contributi­ons towards his or her education.

For those looking for more sophistica­ted food and drink, all of the Paddock Room, Garrett Bar and Pocket Power Room will be open for lunch bookings.
