Chelsea and Arsenal played out one of the best English Premier League matches of the season earlier this month, a thriller that ended in a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.

Tonight, the two meet again in the first leg of the semifinals of the League Cup at Stamford Bridge. Both sides fielded weakened teams in the FA Cup last weekend, seemingly partly in preparation for this match, and it backfired, especially for Arsenal, who were knocked out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest – the first time such a fate has befallen Arsene Wenger in the third round.

Chelsea were only able to draw 0-0 at Norwich, which at least kept them in the competition.
