Otto should make it count for Perrett at Lingfield

-

– Count Otto is of interest as he makes his handicap bow for Amanda Perrett at Lingfield today.

Winner of his second outing in a Kempton novice in November, the three-year-old could not build on that when sent off favourite for a similar event back at that track last month.

Carrying a penalty that day, he found a couple of rivals too good in finishing third and it probably makes sense to switch spheres in the 32Red Casino Handicap this time.

An initial mark of 86 is high enough for a starting point, but Count Otto should be good enough.

Handicap and can make full use of his handy mark.

Twice a winner for James Eustace in 2016, the five-year-old lost his way a bit in the interim but Nick Littmoden appears to have him firing on all cylinders again after he made it third-time lucky for the yard at Lingfield nearly two weeks ago.

Racing off a mark of 72, he prevailed by a head after hitting the front with only about 50m to run and could be good value for the margin.

He tries 1600m for the first time here but if ridden with a little more restraint, there is no reason he cannot be in the shake-up.

Kupatana can strike for Nicky Henderson in the Betfred TV British Stallion Studs EBF Mares' “National Hunt” Novices' Hurdle at Newbury.

A point-to-point winner last March, Kupatana changed hands for £120,000 the following month and connections will surely be disappointed if she is not in the mix here.

Saint Calvados can shrug off the burden of top weight in the Betfred Mobile Novices' Limited Handicap Chase.

A three-timer winner over hurdles in France, the five-yearold made a dream start for Harry Whittington at this track at the end of last month, winning a fourrunner event by nine lengths.

There were only two finishers that day, but it is hard to find fault with the style in which Saint Calvados won and he should be capable of more.

Dissavril is one to watch as she makes her debut for Emma Lavelle in the Listed 188Bet Alan Swinbank Mares' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Market Rasen.

The five-year-old was placed a couple of times in France on the level so she certainly knows her job.

Le Rocher is the pick in the Weatherbys Racing Bank Graduation Chase, which has attracted a small but relatively select field.

Nick Williams' Grade 2-winning hurdler is two from two over fences and while he had to work rather harder than odds of 1-10 suggested he would last time out at Exeter, the experience will not have been lost on him and this longer trip is much more up his street. –
