Rudderless DA has been reduced to a real joke

Maimane has been a complete and utter failure as leader of the party writes Maurizio Odello.

Developments over the last few weeks are very worrisome indeed. Basically, Mr Maimane, the DA is rudderless. From a highly professional outfit it has become a total joke.

Firstly, consider the idiotic shenanigans going on in Cape Town to remove mayor De Lille. This is being played out as an utterly disgusting display of power politics similar to how the ANC would be doing it.

The fact is that the DA has nothing to impeach De Lille with and is just playing a very stupid, time consuming game. Either De Lille is guilty or not guilty. The DA must come clean on this matter. So far my money is on De Lille.

Secondly, the DA is being overrun by the EFF in moving forward after the Zupta downfall (I suppose they are so preoccupied with the De Lille affair and have lost the real plot).

Third is the question of raising homeowners rates unilaterally and without consultation. Should the DA impose these unjust increases there will be a major backlash and the DA will lose the Joburg and Pretoria metros.

Fourthly, the DA diplomatic attitude towards all other minority parties has been, to put it bluntly, irritating to all and sundry.

In conclusion, it seems that you, Mr Maimane, have been a complete and utter failure as leader and should step down on the count of being incompetent.
