DISCOVERY STUDIO: COOKING COURSES TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE

- Kgosi Modisane

Promotes healthy eating without skimping on taste.

The Discovery Vitality HealthyFood Studio has launched from its new home on the top floor of a nine-storey building in Sandton in partnership with Woolworths and Prue Leith Chefs Academy.

It aims to combine excellence in education, research and sustainable health in the field of good nutrition.

It does this through hosting classes on healthy cooking to inspire people to cook and consume healthy food daily by providing them with the tools to make their time in their kitchens more enjoyable.

It’s also the studio’s goal to raise awareness about healthy eating to combat the trend towards obesity and improve health overall.

HealthyFood Studio has the highest quality equipment from its appliance partners, Weber, Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid, and is an inviting space for experimenting with the best ingredients.

In South Africa, there has been an increase in the sale of packaged food and it’s of concern that over half a million people are eating takeaways between four and six times a week.

With a range of cooking courses for beginners and more advanced cooks, both adults and children can be involved.

The courses cover the necessary practical skills linked to cooking methods, time management, planning and meal combinations.

Some of the courses that are available include Everything Fish, Delicious Desserts, All About Veggies, Seasonal Delights, Food With Friends and Good Food OnThe-Go. Inspire your inner chef to take the healthy road.
