Tshepo in limelight

-

Former Santos goalkeeper Tshepo Motsoeneng is getting high praise as a football coach in the Eastern Cape after guiding Tornado FC to the Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe title, only losing one game in the league. A source has told this paper that Motsoeneng is seen as one of the best upcoming coaches and should further his coaching studies. “He has really done great with this club, the people are regarding him very high now. We didn’t expect him to do so well in his first season and now he has shown he has the potential to be one of the best coaches in the future, that is what a lot of people believe,” said the source. Motsoeneng will be looking to help his team win promotion to the National First Division when they compete at the ABC Motsepe League national play-offs later this year. Vilakazi takes the plunge

Free State Stars midfielder Nhlanhla Vilakazi (above) was unhappy that the club didn’t appreciate his contribution over the years and has thus signed a pre-contract with another club. A source at the Bethlehem side has told Phakaaathi that Vilakazi is on his way out. “He will not be with us next season because he was unhappy with the terms when he negotiated for an extension. He felt what he was offered showed the team did not appreciate him and he has since signed a pre-contract elsewhere. He has not told us where he is going,” said the source. AmaZulu have publicly announced their interest in the 31-year-old. Ajax Cape Town are also said to have been talking to Vilakazi who is their former captain. Mogapi on the hunt for a club

Former Bloemfontein Celtic leftback Tumelo Mogapi (above) is confident he will find a team during the off-season, a source close to the player has revealed to Phakaaathi. According to the source, Mogapi has been talking to a couple of teams and something might come up for him at the end of the season. “He is confident he will get a team even though he has spent a lot of time without seeing any action. The people he has spoken to know him very well and they reckon he still has what it takes to continue playing. I believe he still has about four to five years left in his career to play, but that’s if he doesn’t pick up any serious injuries. At the moment he has been playing amateur football and he trains a lot,” said the source. Moloi flies off to Swallows

Swallows FC have signed former SuperSport United and University of Pretoria defender Thabo Moloi (above), a source at the club has confirmed. Moloi, who was a promising talent back in the day, saw his career take a nosedive in 2017 and he is now trying to resurrect his career. “He has already made his debut and he still has what it takes to play in top-flight football. His experience will add value because we have youngsters who are eager to learn and people like Thabo inspire them. We are a club with big ambitions, there is a lot coming up for Swallows and we want him to be part of the players who made history by returning the club to where it belongs – the PSL,” said the source.
