Tomorrow 9.35am Wellington Hurricanes v Chiefs
The Hurricanes looked lost last weekend against the Sharks without the genius of playmaker Beauden Barrett there to dictate the pressure situations, while the Chiefs had to rely on a very late penalty try to get the better of the Blues by a narrow twopoint margin.
Prediction: Hurricanes by seven Saturday 5.05am Tokyo Sunwolves v Blues It’s becoming the norm to see some exciting Sunwolves tries only for the opposition to score twice as many. It’s very easy to predict a loss against the Kiwis with only the margin up for debate like the 50-29 hiding they received last week from a very limited Waratahs outfit.
Prediction: Blues by more than 15
7.15am Melbourne Rebels v Jaguares After a rousing start to their season the Rebels lost a bit of steam after being hammered 50-19 by the Hurricanes before enjoying a bye last week. The Jaguares continue to struggle evident from their 40-14 defeat at home to the Crusaders last weekend. Prediction: Rebels by nine 9.35am Dunedin Highlanders v Brumbies The Highlanders came off second best in their last two Kiwi derbies against the Hurricanes and Chiefs before enjoying a bye last week. The Brumbies hammered the Reds last weekend, but like all Aussie sides continue to struggle in the trans-Tasman battles.
Prediction: Highlanders by 10
11.45am Waratahs v Reds
Sydney The Waratahs narrowed the gap on the Rebels to just one point on the Aussie conference table and while the Waratahs scored big in Tokyo the Reds’ confidence took a big blow against the Brumbies in losing 45-21 after leading 15-0. Prediction: Waratahs by 10. 5.15pm Durban Sharks v Bulls The Sharks are starting to show some consistency after a powerful display against the Hurricanes away. The Bulls have a poor away record but should however be rested after a bye, while the Sharks will have to deal with the jetlag effect. Prediction: Sharks by six. Byes: Crusaders, Lions, Stormers.
