Rajah’s new sense of refinement at home here

-

Gavin Rajah has once again joined forces with @home to bring a new collection to the home and decor market.

In November, Rajah launched the Prêt ê Vivre (ready to live) collection at the retailer.

@home head Chris Swart said: “The original Prêt ê Vivre collection was well received, and showed just how hungry consumers are for quality products that convey beauty and fashion as well as comfort and luxury.”

Rajah translated the style and romance of the high-fashion catwalk into the living and sleeping environments of the modern home.

The new collection features accents of geometric quilting, embroidery and beading, creating rich, intruiging textures and a sense of luxury.

While opulence comes as a standard for Rajah, this new collection pulls through a sense of refinement and tradition. This is achieved by a combination of a choice of fabrics and the use of traditional Japanese motifs such as waves, clouds, fans and the mystical koi fish. Fabrics have been chosen not only for beauty but as Rajah points out: “Because they breathe, wear well, sleep well and travel well. “The home and sleepwear in effect straddle all modes of living, they would be as appropriate to lounge around your living spaces as they would be on a longhaul flight, or even for a stroll along the beach.”

Rajah says the apparel has been designed with both comfort and chic in mind.

“Think of a kimono silhouette,” he said. “There is that impression of simplicity combined with elegance, of comfort entwined with luxury.”

The sleepwear collection was shown for the first time on the African Fashion International runway on March 21. Along with the bed collection, new massage oil candle fragrances have been introduced.

Inspired by Rajah’s love of travel, four new fragrances – Geisha, Wanderlust, La Belle Époque and Koi – have also been added to the candle range.

The original Prêt ê Vivre collection well received.
