The Citizen (Gauteng)

Tomorrow 9.35am Rotorua Chiefs v Jaguares

-

The Jaguares are on a record three-match winning march in Australasia, including a first ever win on Kiwi soil against the Blues last week, but could find another win over the Chiefs just a step too far who beat the Reds 36-12 before their bye last week. Prediction: Chiefs by 10.

11.45am Melbourne Rebels v Crusaders The Rebels suffered backto-back defeats in South Africa - 28-10 against the Bulls and 34-18 against the Stormers - and have lost a lot of earlier ground, while the Crusaders were pushed all the way by the physical Brumbies before winning 21-8 in Canberra. Prediction: Crusaders by 14. Saturday 7.05am Sydney Waratahs v Blues The Blues remain the weakest Kiwi outfit and will be smarting after dropping a home game to the Jaguares, while the Waratahs will be keen to show they simply had an off-day when suffering a record 29-0 loss to the Lions at home before getting a break last week.

Prediction: Waratahs by seven

9.35am Wellington Hurricanes v Lions With just a single point behind log-leaders the Crusaders, the Hurricanes have been the Kiwi’s top performing side while the Lions are coming off a below-par performance against the Reds which will fire them up, but it might still not be enough on the day. Prediction: Canes by six. 3.05pm Newlands Stormers v Bulls The Stormers haven’t lost in four matches at home and at Newlands they are simply a different animal, while the Bulls have performed admirably of late and were unlucky to be edged by the Highlanders last weekend, but could just come up short in a heated contest.

Prediction: Stormers by eight.
