Denmark need a point from their final Group C meeting with France tomorrow to guarantee their progress to the last-16 of the 2018 Fifa World Cup.

The Danes will make it anyway if Australia don’t beat Peru, in a game happening at exactly the same time. If Denmark lose, and Australia win, qualification will be decided by goal difference, goals scored, or even fair play points and, as a last resort, by the drawing of lots.

Åge Hareide’s side could be helped in their game against the French by the fact that Didier Deschamps’ side have already made it to the next round, and it remains to be seen if the France coach decides to rest some of his key players.

I suspect this game will finish in a draw, a result that would leave both teams satisfied.
