Nigeria’s record against Argentina at World Cup finals reads played four, lost four, but the Super Eagles will possibly never have a better chance to reverse this than this evening in Saint Petersburg.

Gernot Rohr’s side know a win will guarantee them a place in the last 16 of the 2018 Fifa World Cup and they come up against an Argentina side that has failed to impress in Russia.

Lionel Messi cut a frustrated figure in the 3-0 loss to Croatia, though Argentina were then handed a lifeline when Nigeria beat Iceland.

A win for Argentina will put them in the last 16 as long as Iceland don’t beat Croatia, when goal difference and other factors could come into the equation.

Nigeria could go through with a point, depending on what happens in the other match, but I am backing them to pick up all three and send Argentina packing.
