Tannhauser lusts for another victory

Singapore - While his win record has dropped to just 50%, TANNHAUSER is an exciting horse and looks well placed to get back into the black in Race 5 at Kranji today.

Now four, the then three-yearold got the attention of race-goers when winning on start two by a lazy nine lengths.

It’s history now that he strung together four wins on the trot - all on the Polytrack - before respiratory issues brought his winning run to a halt in January this year.

The gelding bounced straight back into the winners circle at his very next start - this time on the turf.

While not saluting since, he had excuses two runs back in a similar Class 2 turf affair to this.

However he will now certainly find this field easier than the Group 2 Stewards’ Cup where he finished unplaced over 1400m.

In a similar situation to Tannhauser, LORD O’REILLY will find Class 3 Company, Race 7, an easier assignment than the three-yearold Group 1 Guineas.

While untested at the races on the Polytrack, he has trialed well enough for punters to think that he will handle the surface and will be running on strongly over the 1000m journey.

Best Bets: (TANNHAUSER Race 5, Win), (BLITZ POWER Race 2, value) and (LORD O’REILLY Race 7, value). Jackpot: Race 5 (2, 3, 4 and 7), Race 6 (1, 2, 3 and 4), Race 7 (1, 2, 3, 6 and 10), Race 8 (4, 8, 9, 10 and 12).
