The unexpected acquisition of Khama Billiat by Kaizer Chiefs from Mamelodi Sundowns will have escalated the already fierce rivalry between the two clubs. We will enjoy our football this season.

Chiefs must hire a new coach soon so he can start working on combinations and getting to know his players. They are going at a snail’s pace in their search for a new coach.

I hope Percy Tau can find a good team in Spain, England or France because he will get more experience. Age is still on his side. Sundowns, let the boy go in peace if you receive a

good offer. The lion is roaring.

Romelo Lukaku is a super striker. He helped break the Brazilians’ hearts. I like the effort he always puts in, and the clever runs he makes shows he is good enough. To be the best you must beat the best. Job well done the African descendant.

IS Moshidi

Fadlu Davids’ Maritzburg United have done well to keep the majority of their players ahead of the upcoming season. They must continue from where they left off last season.

Master Kim

Punch Masenamela has always been my favourite player and I thank Baroka FC for recalling him to the team. I think the team need his experience as well.

Rudi

The style of selling players applied by Mamelodi Sundowns needs to be reviewed. They can’t keep on losing players on free transfers when they have had a chance to cash in on them. Furthermore, you can’t keep an unhappy player these days.

The 2018 Fifa World Cup has been something else – in the penalty shootout, you shoot first, you lose. Most of the big stars are now at home. Shooo! Quite amazing.

What a gutsy performance by Croatia. They knew how to spoil the party for the hosts. This Croatia team are going to surprise many football fans.

Mmakgatla

The World Cup’s surprises don’t seem to end and it becomes more and more unpredictable, but it’s a nice one.

Paul Ramokonyane

It’s time for Mbappe to shine for France in this World Cup. The boy has been good, pushing and fighting for his team to do well.

Matipa

“Keep smiling, keep shining/ in good times/ and bad times/ that’s what friends are for” that’s Dionne Warwick if my memory serves me well. The song reminded me immediately after Brazil were brought down to earth by Belgium. I still don’t believe it. Good luck to Belgium though!

Congratulations to my fellow reader Casden Molebala for being the winner of an LG5 Smartphone (I’m just trying to distract from Ajax/Tendai Ndoro and Safa/PSL, my editor).

Wrong Button

Salubrious, incredible or breath-suffocating! That’s all I can say about the Croatia/Russia World Cup quarterfinal on Saturday evening. Croatia scored in the first half of extra time, 10 minutes in, and the Russians replied in the second period, 10 minutes in. The game subsequently was put to bed by the Croatians with the final penalty, which was also the 10th penalty. Yes, I call it the game of 10s!

Thank you SuperSport and Serie A for reaching an agreement for broadcasting the Italian football league across all platforms on DStv’s SuperSport from the beginning of the upcoming 2018/19 season. This has been long overdue.

Mduduzi Mhlongo

Russia were given no chance of reaching the quarterfinals, they have bowed out of the tournament with dignity.

Chief Makuwa

England have reached the semifinal with no big-name players in their squad, thanks to coach Gareth Southgate’s belief in youth development.

Nyatseng Makuwa

What a World Cup, so many exciting “finals” before the actual final.

Mabuti

Players of African descent plying their trade for European countries are on fire at the 2018 World Cup.

If we deemed Tefu and Tshepo Masilela old why are Chiefs considering Laffor? Has Bobby not learned anything after the poor signings of the past?
