Freedman pair for Kranji success

MOVE: TESORO PRIVADO, NOWYOUSEE PUT UP GOOD TRIALS SINCE CHANGING YARDS

- Larry Foley Singapore

Southern Spur the main danger in Race 4.

There are plenty of “swings and roundabouts” in the racing game and none more so when good horses move stables.

And while a switch between “like-for-like” trainers would never affect form for pundits, the fact that two horses who have recently moved to the Lee Freedman stables (ex-Ricardo le Grange) in TESORO PRIVADO and NOWYOUSEE have trialed well since the move suggesting they can be followed at Kranji tomorrow.

Which is important given both have found very winnable races after being in the mix in Group races at their respective last starts, in particular TESORO PRIVADO who had excuses not to place in the Group 1 Guineas and should be hard to beat in Race 4 over 1400m in Class 3 Company.

The rising four-year-old won a similar affair to this three starts back before two good runs in the Classic and the Guineas.

If you are looking for someone to beat him then SOUTHERN SPUR has to be considered as he turned some good form into a much-deserved win last start and he looks the type to handle an extra 4.5kg in what is a similar affair with gate No 3 a factor.

JUSTICE GLORY did it tough last start after winning at his Singapore debut and, while drawn wide again, he has to be respected. Of the rest, the Shane Baertschiger pair of RED DAWN and GALILEO'S APPROACH can both be considered while for value, keep SUN PITTSBURGH safe as she will be working home strongly at odds.

Betting Strategy - TESORO PRIVADO strong win, SUN PITTSBURGH value.

Likewise, NOWYOUSEE was more than competitive in the Group 3, three-year-old sprint and while the son of O’Reilly has always trialed like a Group 1 winner, he should handle Race 7, the Kranji Stakes C Company over 1100m, on his preferred all-weather surface.

It is easily the best race of the day with some very talented Polytrack sprinters heading to the start of this KSC 1100m event. And while you can make a serious winning case for at least half of the field (including the emergencies), the exciting Nowyousee looks the one to beat.

The three-year-old has changed stables after being more than competitive in the Group 3 Sprint and you would imagine if he brings his trial form to the races, he wins. But there are plenty of other horses in form who will find this company to their liking including MARINE TREASURE and ELITE POWER who both keep the likely favourite honest.

Another to watch is GRAN TORINO who is coming back from a layoff. Given the four-year-old has won before after a rest and comes off a nice trial, he must be respected.

SPECIAL KING, CHARGER and CADET are just three more to consider but Nowyousee remains the one to beat.

Betting Strategy - watch for value but NOWYOUSEE should win.

Elsewhere on the card, the Southern Hemisphere two-year-olds are running out of time to pinch a Restricted Maiden win with just 50kg, but QIJI FLYER and MY WIN both look to be some hope in Race 2 while STREET BLADE looks a solid winning hope on the back on some nice trials in Race 5.
