A Phakaaathi source has revealed that Luc Eymael is on thin ice at Free State Stars where the club’s management are believed to be getting tired of his attitude. It is said that Eymael took no advice from the management when he signed players and wanted to handle the negotiations himself while demanding a huge budget which the club can hardly afford. “He chased away players whom the management wanted to keep and has signed his own players but the management is unhappy because some are nearing the end of their careers while the club believes in giving youngsters a chance. This club has a culture of producing their own players and selling them on to make some money as they don’t have a sponsor but it doesn’t look like they will be doing any of that this season,” said a source. Manqele in football limbo

It’s back to the wilderness for former Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Free State Stars and Chippa United striker Edward Manqele (above), a source has revealed to Phakaaathi. After spending the latter part of last season at the Chilli Boys, Manqele was deemed surplus to requirements by the club after failing to make an impact. “It’s back to square one for him and this time it doesn’t look good for him. He honestly thought he would crack it at Chippa after leaving Stars last season, but things didn’t go well for him and he is now left without a club,” said the source. Misconduct costs Langerman

Phakaaathi has learnt that Mamelodi Sundowns’ Tebogo Langerman (above) was subjected to a fine by the club for misconduct. The veteran defender was caught on the wrong side of the law for speeding at the end of last month. A source well-placed at the club told Phakaaathi that Masandawana players get fined whenever they get yellow or red cards in a match. “It is Sundowns’ culture that we fine our players, they know they always need to be disciplined on and off the field and they understand what is and what is not acceptable,” said the source. Zulu’s departure explained

A lack of enthusiasm and determination saw former Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United striker David Zulu (above) being released by Baroka FC before he even kicked a ball, Phakaaathi has learned. The striker is said to have not been hungry enough at training and showed no character, which is why he’s been released. “There are many things that happened, but the main point is that he did not show he would add value to the team. When you join a new team you have to show you want to fight for the club,” said a source.
