Muzi to lead the Traffic

Trainer Corrie Lensley continually produces winners at Flamingo Park and that should be the case in Race 4 today where he saddles Ahead Of Traffic in a Pinnacle Stakes over 1800m.

This five-year-old gelding is in good form and is one of the better handicapped runners in the field.

He scored two successive victories and then followed up with a second spot behind Dodgy Itie in the Flamingo Mile (Non-Black Type) on the course’s big day on the first Saturday of this month.

That was a very good effort as the winner had been ideally prepped for the race after having won it last year.

Lensley also uses Muzi Yeni on most of his runners and once again the popular jockey, who finished second in the race for the title, takes the ride on Ahead Of Traffic.

He has ridden him 16 times for four wins, three seconds and two thirds.

Third place in the Flamingo Mile went to Notacademicatall and looks the runner to end up behind the “Traffic” in this race once again.

Owned by former Bafana Bafana captain Neil Tovey, this fiveyear-old gelding battles to find the winner’s enclosure but he certainly knows how to run in the money.

Since arriving at Flamingo Park he has raced 13 times for three wins, eight seconds and two third places, meaning he has brought home a cheque in every race in which he has competed in Kimberley.

He received 1.5kg from Ahead Of Traffic in the Flamingo Mile and finished 0.75 lengths back and as they meet at the same weight differential, he looks unlikely to turn the tables.
