Michael Rodd out to prove his worth

-

– There is a standalone Friday meeting today at Kranji and Michael Rodd - who could have ridden for two teams in last Tuesday’s inaugural PGI Jockeys Challenge will be out to show why he is the most sought after jockey at Kranji.

His friend and toughest rival Vlad Duric sits on top of the 2018 jockeys championship with 57 wins, but Rodd is definitely on the move and is a jockey to follow as he tries close the

four-win gap with Duric.

The affable Aussie - who was brilliant in timing Debt Collectors winning run in the Raffles Cup last Sunday - doesn’t have a ride in the first race but has a live chance in Race 2 with CENTENARY DIAMOND looking the biggest danger to the likely favourite, STREET PARTY.

LONHRO GOLD in Race 3 looks very hard to beat from gate 1 and Rodd could continue his winning run with CASH IS KING in Race 4.

And while ASHAB (Race 5) and GINGERMAN (Race 6) would need to improve to win, Michael can close the night with two winners.

These are OUR PINNACLE and ATTENTION in Races 7 and 8 respectively. The wins would also help improve his impressive 19.20% winning strike rate in 2018.

Best Bets: (STREET PARTY Race 2, Win), (PURE SPARK Race 5, Win) and (OUR PINNACLE Race 7, value).

Jackpot: Race 5 (2, 3, 4 and 9), Race 6 (1, 2, 7 and 8), Race 7 (1, 3, 8 and 9), Race 8 (1, 2, 4, 5, 7 and 8).
