Golden State look unbeatable

-

The Golden State Warriors flawlessly destroyed Lebron “the king” James and the Cleveland Cavaliers en route to securing a second consecutive NBA Championship title last season, and following a performance like that, are rightfully trading at 11-20 to register a rare three-peat with Bettingworld.

They will host the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Oracle Arena in their season opener on Wednesday morning and are 1-10 hotpot favourites – on paper, they should prove far too good for the Thunder, who surprisingly lost to the fifth-seeded Utah Jazz in the first round of last season’s playoffs.

They are priced up 11-2 to cause the upset, but the fact the team has been plagued with injuries fails to provide any confidence for me.

They lost Andre Roberson to a season-ending left knee injury, and Russell Westbrook had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in the off-season and still has not been cleared for full contact drills. This suggests he will likely miss the first few games of the regular season – which isn’t good for the team.

Golden State Warriors on the other hand, have been on a roll during the regular season, with the greatest three-point shooter the game has to offer, Stephen Curry finishing with averages of 26.4 points and 6.1 assists having played just 51 games. Equally as impressive, Kevin Durant picked up the slack and finished with averages of 26.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists.

The Warriors further acquired centre Demarcus Cousins in the offseason, sending a clear message to the rest of their rivals – they want to win this cham- pionship!
