People must know what SOE bosses earn

-

Audited balance sheets should be published annually, writes Farouk Saloojee from Rustenburg.

It is apparent that while many millions are unemployed in SA, taxpayers are being taken for a ride. The time has come and we have the right to know what every official CEO is earning in all the SOEs.

I am sure SA will be shocked how billions are paid to bloated, overstaffed SOEs.

Every six months, government needs to pour taxpayers’ mon- ey into these black holes to keep them afloat.

It will be very interesting to see where are all our hard-earned money is going.

Billions have been looted or wasted and most SOE employees are enjoying high lives at the expense of the public, using taxpayers’ money.

There are no controls at all on these mega structures into which trillions have gone to fund their private lives while SA is burning and regressing economically.

The newspapers are the only source of information for the public about the misuse of public funds.

What we need is an audited balance sheet to be published of these SOEs, much the same as when listed companies publish their annual results.

Taxpayers are sick and tired of paying high taxes while others in high places – corrupt officials, freeloaders and looters – are having a royal time at the expense of the taxpayer.

This must be stopped so money can be allocated to service delivery, job creation and other such projects.
