Bus kills pupil aged seven

Muldersdrift police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a bus hit and killed a pupil while reversing yesterday.

The seven-year-old Lesego Primary School pupil died on the scene.

Constable Slindile Ntuli described the tragic accident: “The pupil, aged seven, was behind the school bus while the driver was reversing.

“The driver apparently hit the child with the right rear bumper without noticing and drove over the child.”

She added that paramedics rushed out immediately, but the child was declared dead on the scene.

“The child’s parents were contacted and trauma counselling was provided to them and the pupils.

“The matter is under intense investigation,” she added. – Caxton News Service
