16 survivors in Ba le of the Bush

Sixteen castaways – who have all participat­ed in the US and Survivor SA editions of this globally popular Emmy Award-winning series – are set to take part in a Survivor-esque showdown, with the proceeds benefittin­g a worthy cause.

Battle of the Bush is a five-day, four-night survival challenge pitting past cast members of Survivor (US) and Survivor SA against each other and fans from both countries in a number of physical, mental and social challenges to determine who deserves the title of Best of the Bush.

The challenge started yesterday and is taking place on the grounds of the Lekwena Wildlife Estate outside Potchefstr­oom as well as at the Naledi Christian Academy, which is the beneficiar­y of the event.

Survivor superfans and reality TV enthusiast­s will be able to meet the cast members at the Battle of The Bush afterparty at Lekwena Wildlife Estate on Monday.

Johannesbu­rg and Cape Town fans can buy tickets to special events at The Joshua Tree Restaurant in North Riding, Johannesbu­rg on Wednesday, September 25, and at Radisson Red Hotel at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on Saturday, September 28.

The Survivor (US) castaways are: Bob Crowley (Survivor: Gabon winner); Ramona Gray (Borneo); Wendall Holland (Ghost Island); Jill Behm and James “Jimmy” Tarantino” (Nicaragua); Brice Johnston (Cagayan); Desiree Williams (Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers) as well as Tina Scheer (Exile Island)

Survivor SA contestant­s: Tom Swartz, Toni Tebbutt and Ace Chetty (Survivor SA: Philippine­s); Amanda Hoosen and Nichal Ramchander (Malaysia); Marsha Wessels and Shona MacDonald (Champions) and Tejay Pillay (Maldives).
