General Franco can dictate

-

After a mystifying no show second time out, General Franco will be out to set the record straight at Durbanville tomorrow.

This Frankel colt made mincemeat of subsequent Listed winner Three Two Charlie on debut, before trailing in last in a Juvenile Plate at 7-20.

He comes back from a fourmonth break in Race 2 over 1400m, but really did look top drawer first up and has to be given another chance.

Particularly as Richard Fourie rides ahead of Frank Lloyd Wright and Green Jacket, who complete what could well turn out to be a Justin Snaith trifecta in this small six-horse affair.

Snaith promised after his fourtimer last weekend that he would be bringing “some beautiful horses to the racetrack next Saturday” and has been true to his word.

But perhaps the best bet on the card is in Race 1, a Maiden Plate over 1250m.

Kilindini, the Brett Crawfordtrained R2.8 million Silvano colt, kept on strongly behind Baltimore Jack on debut in what looked a strong Maiden Plate.

Generally Crawford’s first timers improve markedly second time out, and if that happens this one will be home and hosed.

It’s a similar story for the Glen Kotzen-trained Follow The Star in Race 4. This Silvano filly got going late for third to Crawford’s ultra impressive Flame Tree on debut, and now goes 1600m, which should be right up her alley.

From a good draw in a moderate looking line up she is another who will take a power of beating.

Last of our ‘golden quartet’ of good bets is Sir Michael in Race 5.

This Dean Kannemeyertrained son of Kingsbarns beat Cane Lime ‘N Soda easily last time.

The Snaith-trained Silver Host would have been a major threat receiving 4.5kg from our selection after quickening impressively last time, but has pulled a very wide draw, which is always a big minus at the ‘country course’. To take a bet Go to www.tabonline.co.za or www.bettingworld.co.za
