Lucky Veil can double up

The Coerie Lensley-trained Lucky Veil was an impressive winner last week and should have a quick follow-up to that win in Race 8 at Flamingo Park today.

Lucky Veil came into last week’s race after a string of unplaced runs on the turf and the Polytrack but has clearly taken to the sand as this Muhtafal gelding came from well off the pace to quicken clear of his field late.

Lensley was of the opinion that Lucky Veil would need further now but after that win it is easy to know why he ran him so quickly back over the course and distance (1000m), Jockey Eldin Webber keeps the ride.

The Stephanie Miller-trained All The Sevens has not always shown his best side but he did so last week when winning very easily, beating the heavily supported Call To Duty by a widening 3.25 lengths.

He returns to the same course and distance of 1400m in Race 6, a Pinnacle Stakes, and it is also worth noting that he also won over the track and trip in April.

Interestingly jockey Ryan Munger who was aboard All The Sevens last week has deserted him for stable companion Takatul which should increase the price and possible value of All The Sevens.

Exotic perm players always need a banker and Queen Rachel in the last race could fill that role.

Trainer Bill Human has this Great Britain mare in fine form and she is unbeaten in two starts at this course.

She beat Meet The Logans by 1.75 lengths in August over 1300m and followed that up by beating Dakota Express – a runner in this race - by a length over 1000m.

Apprentice Nathan Klink was aboard her for both of those wins and retains the ride.
