Savanna offers an OcSober option

In a bid to encourage people to drive dry this spring, Savanna this week launched SA’s first non-alcoholic cider.

A Block Party to introduce it was held at 1 Fox Precinct in the Joburg CBD.

Its message was that with Savanna Non-alcoholic Lemon there’s a new way to party.

Initially, partygoers were surprised, and in some cases concerned, when they faced a road block on their way to the Block Party.

Being stopped by the police doesn’t usually signal the beginning of a good party!

In this way the message was driven home about drinking responsibly and that a good party does not always have to result in a jail term or even death.

And it turned out to be part of the show; the “police” were in fact the welcoming crew for the partygoers.

They handed out bottles of ice-cold Savanna Non-alcoholic Lemon as they ushered them forward into the venue. Patrons’ surprise turned to delight as they realised that the Block Party was in fact part of the ROAD Block Party.

The night was full of the unexpected. Not only did Savanna make hump day (Wednesday) the new Saturday, but unique twists were put on traditional drinking games, including extreme Jenga and extreme pong.

Artists like Kabza De Small, Olwee and Da Kruk helped partygoers to dance the night away while enjoying the crisp non-alcoholic cider.

“When embarking on the process of creating South Africa’s first ever non-alcoholic cider, Savanna carefully selected a de-alcoholisation process that kept the traditional dry and crisp Savanna taste people know and love,” said Lazola Dali, Savanna marketing manager.

“Savanna Non-alcoholic Lemon means drinkers can enjoy the distinctive Savanna taste in any situation, whether you’re the designated driver or the designated party animal.

“We want to inspire South Africans to buck the belief that you have to consume alcohol to have a good time,” Dali added.
