Marco heads for The Jungle

- Brendan Gaillard

Trainer Cliffie Miller has some nice runners at Flamingo Park today and the pick of them could be In The Jungle in Race 5.

This seven-year-old gelding has been consistent since coming to the Northern Cape and won over the course and distance in July.

Since then In The Jungle has held his form well enough and there are two things in his favour.

Firstly, In The Jungle has the benefit of a good draw and his rider Marco van Rensburg will not have to use him up early and secondly Van Rensburg has been able to get the best out of his mount when he has been aboard him.

Gauteng trainer Paul Matchett has a good record when raiding so his runners must be considered. Both Tequila Man in Race 3 and Favourite Model in Race 4 could run big races.

Tequila Man has been a bit disappointing of late but is likely to improve trying the sand for the first time and may have needed his last run.

The step-up in distance to this 1400m should also suit.

Favourite Model, a Mambo In Seattle filly, is fit and ready to run a better race.

It looks a weak field so jockey Muzi Yeni appears to have picked up a decent ride on Favourite Model.

This four-year-old had some good earlier form in her career and if she runs up to any of those performances she will be hard to beat.

Apart from In The Jungle, Cliffie Miller can get punters off to a winning start as Lady Shea is improving and could be ready to score in Race 1.

This filly has shown inexperience in both of her starts so far but the penny did seem to drop late with her last time out.
