Driven by luxury, the Raffle game is back

LOTTERY: A CHANCE TO WIN PRIZES WORTH R4.6M IN ANNUAL GAME

-

With only 500 000 tickets in this year’s Raffle, the chances of winning are better.

The National Lottery operator, Ithuba, announced its famous annual Raffle game is back and bigger than ever. This year’s Raffle, themed, “Driven by Luxury” was launched on Sunday with the draw taking place on January 10, making every ticket the best Christmas or new year’s gift to end off 2019 and kick start 2020.

At the official media launch, the operator was excited to announce that this year, players stand a chance to win one of 10 Mercedes-Benz C Class Cabriolets and just under 2 500 guaranteed cash prizes to the value of R4.6 million. With only 500 000 tickets available in this year’s Raffle, the chances of winning are better than ever with the overall odds sitting at an all-time low of 231, making this game the most winnable one since the launch in October 2016.

To date, there have been four Raffles:

Christmas, where 14 MercedesBenz C200 Cabriolet were won;

The Millionaire’s, that saw 12 people walking away with R1 million each;

The Mini, where 25 lucky winners drove away with a brand new Mini Cooper Convertible, and more recently;

The Home Sweet Home, which drew in December 2018, where six winners opened the doors to their beautiful homes worth R2 million each!

“The R game is based on a traditional version of a game played in schools and other community events, which means that South

Africans are already familiar with the type of playing style,” says Khensani Mabuza, corporate relations executive at Ithuba.

“When the first Raffle was launched in October 2016, the operator was hoping the game would do well in the market, but we were pleasantly surprised when all two million tickets were sold out.

“The operator introduced the game to not only instil trust in the National Lottery brand and pro

vide players with the best winning experiences but to also increase the odds of players having the opportunity to take home the jackpot prize.

“When the operator was granted its operating licence in 2015, we promised to reinvigorate the National Lottery as well as to roll out an innovative game portfolio that would be in the best interest of the nation and with the Raffle games, we are precisely doing that.”
