Experts tip Boks

Corne Krige, former Springbok captain

I predicted on Superbru the Boks will win by three. Just like the Bulls in the 2007 Super Rugby final, you know how they’re going to play but it’s still difficult to stop them. England were very impressive against New Zealand, but I believe we should edge them.

Eugene Eloff, former Lions coach

I think the Boks will win 22-18. There is no doubt England are the favourites and they are very accurate in what they do. But I believe, like in 1995, it’s not always the favourites who will win the trophy, but rather the team who plays for the entire 80 minutes.

Rudolf Straeuli, 1995 World Cup winner

I believe the Boks will win it. You have to be realistic because England are the favourites and they have performed very well, but coach Rassie Erasmus has done very well and they know how to win important matches.

Johan Ackermann, former Springbok lock

The Boks will win the final and even though I say that with my heart, I believe Rassie has installed the belief and confidence in the team and they have a game plan that the players have bought into. Their defence will ask questions of England that they are not used to.

Ollie le Roux, former Springbok prop

I’m saying the Boks will win by as much as 23 points, based on the fact that while England were good last weekend, their energy might be low and the pressure of playing in a final could catch up with them. The importance of Siya Kolisi holding the trophy will be big for our country.
