Singer’s smash hit named after the wrestler first went viral on social media.

Limpopo-born South African music sensation Maya Wegerif, popularly known as Sho Madjozi, 27, and WWE superstar John Cena found themselves trending on various social media platforms this week. This was after they met each other for the first time on the American The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday.

Madjozi’s smash hit named after the wrestler first went viral on social media, on the YouTube musical channel Colors, when Madjozi first performed it in August.

It also spawned a dance craze named the John Cena challenge, which Cena danced to live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Madjozi said she thought the studio audience was reacting to her performance on The Kelly

Clarkson Show when they started screaming for Cena, who had appeared to surprise her.

“I didn’t see him come in so when people were screaming, I’m like ‘yoh I’m killing it’,” tweeted Madjozi in response to the show’s social media tweet about the moment.

Speaking to musician-turnedtelevision talk show host Clarkson prior to her performance on her show, Madjozi shared how she had not yet met the star since releasing the freestyle hit she named after him during her performance on music platform Colors a few months ago.

“So, did you ever get to meet him after you did?” asked Clarkson, to which Madjozi replied: “No, of course not. At least not yet.”

“Oh, that’s a bummer. I think he posted. Didn’t he post about it as well, when he found out?” said Clarkson in a follow-up question.

“I don’t know if he posts for himself but on his page, he put the picture of me there… He doesn’t tag me, nothing…” said Madjozi.

She then went on to say she wouldn’t know what to do with herself if she ever met Cena because she loves him so much.

“It’s a first season. He’s not here.

We have a small budget,” said Clarkson before saying that Cena was probably watching at home.

As Madjozi was performing,

Cena appeared from backstage and danced his way over to her. It took her a while to realise what was happening but her reaction when she did was priceless.

The hit single is currently sitting at five million views on YouTube. –
