It’s almost time to get down and jika with Mi Casa, pictured, at what promises to be the biggest music event of 2019. The eccentric trio join some of the biggest names in South African music for Sun City’s Big 40 Birthday Party on December 7. With unmatched onstage energy and a sound different from any other South African band, Mi Casa is ready to thrill revellers with songs like Jika, Heavenly Sent, These Streets, Turn You On, Toca and countless other groovy hits.

This band, comprising Dr Duda (producer, pianist and consummate beat-maker), J’Something (vocalist and guitarist) and Mo T (trumpeter and jazz influence), has dominated charts in South Africa since 2010.

The band has had eight number one singles, including smash hits Jika and Don’t Wanna Be Your Friend, both of which went multiplatinum and were the most played songs on national and continental radio platforms.

They have hosted countless sold out shows in 31 African countries as well as in Portugal, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, and Canada.

What makes this band unique, besides the music, is that their

values are deeply rooted in making music with positive vibes and uplifting energy. Next year Mi Casa turn 10 and it will be a massive year for the band but, before their celebrations begin, they will be at Sun City with some excellent

celebratory vibes.

Also on the bill for The Big 40 Birthday Party at the Valley of Waves are Sho Madjozi, Shekhinah, Dr Victor & The Rasta Rebels and Kurt Darren. A lively production showcasing the resort’s history, culminating with a fireworks display is also on the cards.

At The Big 40 After Party at the Sun Arena, Kwesta, Goodluck, Prince Kaybee, DJ Christos, Vinny da Vinci and DJ Tira will be performing, with Somizi as MC.
