Bath look set to drown Quins

-

Rugby 5 Pool 2. Saturday 23 November

Match 1: London Irish v Bayonne (European Challenge Cup)

Both teams lost their opening round matches, but came up against some good teams. Bayonne should manage to scrape through despite playing away from home, but it won't come easy.

Prediction: Draw or Bayonne by 5-12

Match 2: Wasps v Agen (European Challenge Cup)

Both these teams also tasted defeat in round 1. Wasps were at least competitive when going down in France. Agen were given a hiding by Edinburgh. It could be a long season for Agen fans.

Prediction: Wasps by 5-12

Match 3: Zebre v Stade Francais (European Challenge Cup)

The departure of former Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer might just see the start of Stade Francais’s turnaround. They have only recorded three victories in all competitions this season. Zebre are better at home so should find a few points. This makes this match hard to call.

Prediction: Draw or Zebre by 5-12

Match 4: Exeter v Glasgow (European Champions Cup) Both teams won their first matches in this tournament. Glasgow were a little less clinical than a superb Exeter side who can now target their season after the World Cup. Exeter should win well if their opening fixture was anything to go by. Prediction: Exeter by 5-12 or 13+

Match 5: Harlequins v Bath Harlequins were hammered 53-21 by Clermont Auvergne in the European Championship Cup last weekend while Bath were downed 16-17 by Ulster. Bath can take this one despite being on the road as it is unlikely that Quins can bounce back after the big defeat. Prediction: Bath by 5-12 or 13+
