It pays to have a Mistress Of Means

Foreign Source provided the Viva Rio form line with another winner last week and Mistress Of Means could follow that up and win Race 8 at the Fairview Polytrack today.

This Sharon Kotzen-trained filly took six starts to get out of the maiden ranks but beat Blushing Bride that day and that filly is talented and has won subsequently. Mistress Of Means was a good third in her post-maiden run, only 0.80 lengths behind Brandina who is also a decent sort, so does seem able to win off her current mark.

Trainer Sharon Kotzen thought her good enough to participate in a feature race last time out and after leading early on, dropped away at the finish.

Although her only win was on the turf this Master Of My Fate filly has run well on the Polytrack and 1600m will not be a problem for her.

Mtakatyi has run over 1300m on the Fairview Polytrack twice and won both times. He contests Race 3 over the same course and distance and could win again.

After a poor debut on the turf in May, this Linngari gelding pulled of a surprise victory over Market Leader when trying the Polytrack for the first time.

Mtakatyi did well when beating Burnt Rock, a rival he meets again in this race, last time and although he is 0.5kg worse off for that win, he is a young and improving sort.

What A Prince was making good late progress on his local debut and will prefer the 1200m of Race 1. Freezing Fast, looks his biggest threat and a Swinger with these two looks the right way to start the day.
