I took my wife to work this morning on our normal quiet route through the suburbs. I have never seen so many walkers, joggers, cyclists and people walking their dogs at this time of the morning on this route. Simple freedoms are so important!

There are too many cockamamie flip-flops being made by politicians who are becoming power drunk. They allow us to go outside and cycle, jog and walk during a mere three hours a morning. The ban on the sale of cigarettes is bizarre. We all know that cigarette smoking is dangerous, but it’s not the government’s call to decide if people can smoke or not. The business rescue practitioners of South African Airways were never going to be free to do their job. Interference from government and by association the trade unions, saw to that. Liquidation was the only answer.

Regarding Cuban doctors: who is making money out of this? I thought Cuban doctors’ medical certificates were not valid here. Who remembers when our students who studied in Cuba could not get a licence to practice here?
