DJ Chase opens music school while still active in industry

From House producer and DJ to music instructor. Such is the life of DJ Chase who opens a music school, Volume Music Academy, on 2 March.

Generally, most professionals wait to teach when their own run is over.

Not DJ Chase.

“It is key for me to develop talent while I am active in the industry. It means course content is taught almost in real time,” he says.

His latest single Linda, featuring Busi N, is steadily enjoying radio airplay across several markets. With a twodecades-long career behind him, DJ Chase is realising a lifelong dream. “With technology and music changing so fast, I am also keen to hear how students are going to experiment, and hoping they will teach me something,” he says.
