Swansea are in hot form

Matches from the ultra-competitive English Championship are included in TAB Soccer 6 and 10 pools today and tomorrow and as usual it’s by no means easy to predict the outcomes.

TAB Soccer 10 pools today and tomorrow contain games from the English Championship, which always features a long and taxing season with the intensity of the race for promotion to the moneyspinning Premier League requiring an exhaustive effort.

The top two teams are promoted and the next four participate in a play-off for a further spot in what is described as the most lucrative match in world football.

In last season’s final Fulham pipped Brentford, who are in the running again for promotion despite selling several of their star players.

With 24 teams, it is also one of the largest leagues in world football, requiring 46 matches in the season on top of cup commitments, plus the post-season play-off.

Last season Leeds United took the title with 93 points, 10 more than second-placed West Bromwich Albion.

Those tallies are not likely to be beaten, or even equalled, this season as inconsistency means the race for promotion is still wide open.

Tonight and tomorrow the battle continues with leaders Norwich only one point ahead of Brentford.

Both are away tomorrow with Norwich at struggling Coventry and Brentford in a London derby against Queens’ Park Rangers. Both are games in which the front-runners could find themselves checked.

Third-placed Swansea City look the form team currently.

They are five points behind the leaders, but with two games in hand and are expected to continue their winning ways in the league at home to Nottingham Forest tomorrow.
