Pastors’ Wives – a revelation of the lifestyles of ‘first ladies’
DStv’s newest original lifestyle channel, Honey, arrived on screens on 15 February and social media is buzzing with news and posts about Pastors’ Wives – a reality series that brings viewers behind-the-pulpit drama from across the continent. The first episode aired on Friday 19 February at 5pm.
The show is produced by Sonia Mbele, who was behind The Real Housewives of Jo’burg.
It brings together the “first ladies” of five congregations as they juggle motherhood, marriage, family, friendships, businesses and careers, all while supporting their husbands and setting an example for their congregants.
Viewers can look forward to learning intimate details of their loves and lives, their roles in the church, and the Biblical tug-ofwar within their friendships.
In the diary room sessions, each wife’s true sentiments and convictions are revealed, along with their fiery opinions about their fellow cast members and the unfolding drama on the show.
Pastors’ Wives bring viewers drama, opulence and sass from the pulpit, church pews and homes of the fabulous first ladies.
The cast:
Nandipha Mlombi is vibrant and vivacious and brings the glamour to Pastors’ Wives. She’s an actress, a social entrepreneur, a mother of five, and a self-professed diva with big dreams. At 33, she has to contend with strong views – from church elders – about her unconventional approach to being a first lady. “iSambatho” (church uniform) has never looked so good.
Phume Khethang is a glamorous sales manager in the hospitality industry who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. Assertive and confident, her relationship with her pastor husband and the church is bound to get tongues wagging and eyes popping.
Anietie Ezeimo is a Nigerian-born mother of five, a pastor, a pastors’ wife and singer. A mother figure and straight talker, she’s considered the voice of reason – although she may seem stubborn.
Innocent Sadiki is a model, actress and presenter. Her love story with her pastor husband brings a touch of youthful romance to the show. She is sassy and energetic, and combines her passion for TV and ministry with a candid on-screen persona.
Nigerian born Adeyola da Costa-Ayo brings the soul food to the show. Strong and outspoken, she moved to SA to join her husband, jazz musician-turned-pastor Kunle Ayo.
Adeyola is a successful caterer and restaurateur who is invested in supporting her husband. –
