Bike fundraiser for girls

Statistics showing one in 10 girls in Africa either misses class or drops out of school due to their menstrual cycle have prompted University of KwaZulu-Natal lecturer Kerry Frizelle and her mountain bike riding partner Mary Anne Greenland to ride the Berg&Bush two-day stage race to raise funds to promote “Positive Periods”.

This initiative aims to provide cheap sanitary ware, improve toilets and generally demystify menstruation. –
